There's no press release from S3 Graphics yet and you won't find any further informations about Chrome 540 GTX at the main site of S3 Graphics, but the card is listed at GStore since a few hours. The price is 69.95 US$ (about 54 €) - and it's "In Stock"!

As expected, the card contains a DisplayPort interface and it's a bit higher clocked than Chrome 440 GTX (800/850 MHz GPU/memory vs. 725/700 MHz). So it's clearly evident that Chrome 540 GTX is also a bit faster than Chrome 440 GTX. The layout of the card looks a bit weird since it's a full-sized PCB (Chrome 400 Series and Chrome 530 GT are half-sized) but the additional space seems not be used by any conductor paths.

 

Oddly enough, the new card isn't listed in the latest driver (released yesterday) although its main advantage is support for DisplayPort and therefore it's actually the driver for Chrome 540 GTX. Anyway, I guess we will get a press releases and some more informations from S3 Graphics in the very near future.
